President’s Message – Fall 2011

by Susan Jacobs on October 13, 2011

During the first half of 2011, our organization has enjoyed a growth in our chapter’s membership, new programs and events, new programing locations, two new issues of our newsletter, the creation of a new Business Development Special Interest Group, a new relationship with the Accounting Marketing Association, and a new Business Manager.

As of June 2011, I am proud to report NYLMA has:

• Over 400 members

• Over 700 LinkedIn members

• 6 Chapter Programs with 50 to over 100 in attendance

• 14 Committee and Special Interest Groups (SIG) who organized over 10 additional programs and events

• Approximately, 100 of our members attended the Annual Conference in Orlando

• Over 30 dedicated Board, Committee and SIG leaders

Our membership benefits include the opportunity to:

• Develop and expand your professional network

• Sharpen your marketing, business, and leadership skills, as well as, industry knowledge

• Share your knowledge and expertise through our many programming opportunities and/or chapter’s newsletter

• Become a mentor or mentee

• Develop your leadership skills

• Explore new career paths in legal marketing

• Take full advantage of the largest legal market in the country

• Access a large and experienced service provider network

• Create lifelong friends

As you the review the list above, we hope you are impressed with all our chapter has to offer. The success of NYLMA is due to collective efforts, time and dedication of our active members, chapter leaders, speakers and generous sponsors.

We are hard at work to identify new ways to make the most of your membership. We are excited to announce NYLMA is now working with the New York Chapter of the Association of Accounting Marketing (NYAAM) to increase the value to our respective membership by expanding our networking and educational opportunities. NYLMA members will now receive exclusive invitations to NYAAM programing and events.

All of us at NYLMA hope that each of you will continue to take advantage of all we have to offer and play an active role in the NYLMA community to build upon our success. If you’re not yet convinced what NYLMA can do for you, we encourage you to invest the time to speak with any of our chapter leaders.

Susan Jacobs

2011 NYLMA President
