Chapters from Other Chapters

There is much going on throughout the LMA world beyond the Metro New York chapter.  Here is a sampling of recent programs and events produced by other LMA chapters:

LMA Ohio

The LMA Ohio chapter staged its 2015 Practice Development Institute “Perfect Your Pitch for Lawyers & Law Firm Marketing Staff™” in Columbus on October 27.  The annual workshop, which attracted its highest turnout yet, showcased six in-house counsel speakers from Big Lots, Fifth Third Bank, Nationwide Insurance, Vora Ventures, Cedar Electronics Holding Corp. (Escort Inc. and Cobra Electronics), and Redbox.  The program offered lawyers who attended 5.5 hours of CLE, including 2.5 hours of ethics credits.

LMA Southeastern

The South Florida branch of the LMA Southeastern chapter is staging a Media Panel Luncheon on Tuesday January 26 in Miami.  The panel will feature a wide range of key business and legal industry journalists based in South Florida.   More information and registration details are available here.

The LMASE chapter held a program on October 28 on “Legal CRM: Why It’s Challenging and What to Do About It.”   Guest speaker David Ackert of Ackert, Inc. discussed why CRM management is one of the biggest challenges in legal marketing while detailing some of the effective ways firms can address the problem.  Mr. Ackert revealed the results of the latest market-wide study on the state of legal CRM and shared a series of techniques that can help to bridge the gap between a law firm and its database.

LMA Southern California

The LMA SoCal Chapter has established “LMA SoCal Link.”  This new free program pairs interested members in one-on-one partnerships to encourage professional growth, the sharing of knowledge and the development of new relationships. Pairs are made by matching the goals of each member, based on a questionnaire that must be completed in order to apply. Each partnership will be encouraged to set up a program that works best for both of them – meetings, social events, etc.

The chapter also is hosting a program, “Start Today: 10 Things You can Do To Impact Revenue” at several different Southern California venues, including San Diego and Irvine, in late January.
